Job Description:
This position acquires and analyzes computing system security information to identify vulnerabilities across all business segments, computing platforms, and infrastructure architectures. To qualify, you must be able to perform deep technical security assessments (including web and systems penetration testing) and be familiar with e-forensics and investigative practices. This position also involves interaction with a variety of other departments and business functions, so strong verbal and written communication skills are a must. Ideal candidate will possess scripting or programming skills in languages relating to penetration testing: JavaScript, PERL, Python, C, C#, .NET and/or Java programming knowledge. With limited to no supervision the candidate must be able to assess and identify security threats and vulnerabilities and provide analysis, reporting, and recommended remediation to appropriate teams, assist and train teammates to identify security threats and vulnerabilitie
s, perform penetration testing and vulnerability scanning, perform white box, grey box and black box security testing as needed, identify emerging security solutions, and perform technical evaluations of assessment-related products. This candidate will assist in the strategic security vision for the enterprise, and participate in cross-department architecture reviews and support internal and external audit teams in relation to information security initiatives. Other Qualifications: appropriate certifications, tool skills that include web tools (proxying tools, scanners, and fuzzers), and technology skills ranging from web servers and services to transaction protocols.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and typically 14 to 19 years' related work experience or a Master's degree with 12 to 17 years' related work experience or a PhD degree with 9 to 14 years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer B.S. in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent work experience. Job is Puget Sound dependent. Work schedule is flexible.
