My clients Information Security Department is responsible for coordinating and implementing a proactive and distributed information security management program to ensure the continuous confidentiality, integrity and availability of information assets that meets their risk tolerance. The Information Security Department seeks an individual with highly specialized process and technical information security expertise as well as the ability to effectively handle multiple competing priorities to fill its available Senior Information Risk Consultant position.
Reporting directly to the Chief Information Security Officer, the Senior Information Risk Consultant works with the entire community in a consultative manner to understand organizational missions, values and goals, analyze information risks which threaten those objectives, recommend appropriate control solutions, and assist in implementing and auditing them to reduce operational and compliance based exposures. Responsibilities include a range of proactive security risk management activities including: consultation for policy development, awareness and enforcement; infrastructure and application risk assessments; organizational process reviews and improvements; regulatory compliance solutions; control implementation and project management; report and other documentation preparation and review; independent and collaborative security research; security awareness presentations and briefings; developing and collecting decision quality security program metrics, and guiding and assi
sting the security team's overall efforts.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Basic Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree is required; however, ten or more years of directly applicable professional services and/or enterprise information security experience and expertise will be considered equivalent Eight years of directly applicable enterprise and/or professional services information security experience, with progressively increasing levels of capability and responsibility The selected candidate must successfully pass a background security screen Highly advanced PC / Macintosh / Unix workstation and internet software skills, groupware, office productivity software, project management software, architecture tools (e.g. Visio, etc.), and previous experience as a system administrator Previous experience with typical infrastructure devices (WAN and LAN devices, operating systems for server platforms, workstations, and a broad range of host and network security devices, etc.) Intimate operational familiarity with core organizational processes, their associated IT enabled counterp
arts, and regulatory compliance issues affecting their operation.
Skills necessary to design scalable, secure processes, IT architecture solutions, and the ability to develop scripts and other facilitative technical tools Lifting up to 25 Lbs may be required at times The ability to travel to occasionally attend higher education and other information security conferences
Preferred Qualifications:
Seven or more years of advisory consulting experience is preferred.
If direct professional experience is substituted for a degree, some college work and a commitment to obtain a four-year university degree is strongly is preferred. A solid understanding of data and application development life-cycles, application components, and database security principles is a significant advantage. Possession of, or a commitment to obtain, major, industry recognized information security professional certifications (such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, etc.) is also strongly preferred.
Salary: $110,000 base plus excellent benefits
