Position: Security Engineer

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Secret clearance is required.
Provide subject matter expertise in the various information systems, devices and technologies present on military medical networks. Provide independent validation services as described by the U.S. Army's DIACAP best business practices. Provide technical assessments of the effectiveness and appropriateness of complex software, system, and network security architecture, controls, methods, as well as supporting manual processes and procedures and risk mitigation plans. Provide detailed documentation in standard format supporting their findings and recommendations. Additional duties include:
• Assist USAMITC, MEDCOM and their subordinate Components, the DOD Services and Agencies, by identifying IA requirements and specifications
• Participate in staff assistance visits for data gathering, performing technical analysis, and documenting IA requirements
• Conduct studies and preparing evaluations regarding the feasibility of using new technology
• Provide analysis of customer requirements
• Provide technical support in assessing the Warfighters information needs and develop the required documents
• Base the need development on operational plans and a thorough knowledge of the Warfighter and warfighting, as well as on the current technology
• Conduct product research and evaluation, reporting, and analysis on a variety of security related topics
JOB REQUIREMENTS

BS degree is required. 5+ years of experience. Should possess experience with most of the following but not all are necessary: firewalls, IDS, security hardening, systems configurations, network device configurations, access controls.
It is preferred that this person be a current Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CISA or similar security professional certification. Familiarity with DIACAP and/or US Army specific applications of DIACAP is strongly desired.
