Position: Sales Engineer
Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States

Sales Engineer Responsibilities
• Sales Engineer team member who will help drive the sales of our products and services while developing relationships and partnerships with our customers
• Work closely with account managers throughout all stages of the sales cycle
• Work effectively in a team selling environment and have a solid understanding of the strategic selling process
• Serve as the technical expert on the sales team
• Qualify opportunities from a technical perspective
• Perform needs analysis for qualified sales opportunities. Help to create technical requirements documentation for the implementation and integration of our products into customer environments.
• Attend customers and prospects meetings and respond to customers' technology-related questions, assess customers' needs, and make recommendations on the best product configuration/integration.
• Track and record technical sales activity
• Produce and/or deliver customer specific demonstrations and technical presentations
• Assist as required to develop technical sections of proposals and answers to RFXs
• Develop whitepapers, tech notes, and other high-level technical documentation as required
• Interface closely with Product Management and Engineering and provide feedback on competitive trends, market shifts, and customers' needs to ensure that company continues to produce products and services that match the changing market.
• Provide expert-level guidance on proper use and deployment of companies products
• Participate in "Proof of Concept", "Pilots" and "Evaluation" activities that involve the installation, customization and testing of companies products
• Drive product and feature beta testing process at customer sites.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:
• 6+ years-related industry experience.
• Must have Checkpoint, Sourcefire or ISS product experience.
BS EE/CS or equivalent experience
• Pre-Sales experience highly desired.
• Relevant experience with direct competitor solutions is desirable.
• Relevant experience with companies partner product offerings is important.
o Check Point Software Technologies, Inc.
o IBM Internet Security Systems, Inc.
o Websense, Inc.
o Trend Micro
o Source Fire, Inc.
• Strong knowledge of common networking/security protocols and applications such as TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, FTP, DNS, NFS
• Strong knowledge of network security, network design principles, and network technologies that includes; OSI model, routing (ospf, bgp), switching, vlans, vrrp
• Experience with the linux operating system and linux based applications
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Specific experience in the following; UTM, Firewall, IPsec,VPN, SSL, IDS, IPS, Content Monitoring and Filtering, Anti-spam, Anti-virus, DDOS, Radius/AAA
• Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and presentation skill
• Flexibility with travel
